KFC Chicken @ Home





























KFC  is one of the famous fast food hub for most of the fried chicken lovers.These crispy and crunchy fries are really mouthwatering. After having it a number of times from such food corners, i  thought of bringing the same taste and flavour in my plates @  kitchen. After a number of researches and experiments (flops were there ) ,  i have ended up with a simple recipe which gives the perfect aroma and flavour of KFC. HereI am sharing it with you with each step's pic....

Ingredients:-
Chicken pieces (with skin)           -  6 big pieces
For marinating:-
Ginger garlic paste                        -  1 tbsp
Pepper powder                              -  1 tsp
Red chilli powder                           - 1 tsp
Lemon juice                                    - 1 tbsp
Egg                                                - 1
Oregano                                         - 1/2 tsp
Salt                                                  - to taste

For covering:-
Egg                                                     -  2
Milk                                                    - 4 tbsp
All purpose flour (Maida)                    -2 cups
Pepper powder                                   - ¼ tsp
Bread crumbs/ powder                       - 3 tbsp
Oats                                                  - 3 tbsp
Oregano                                            - 1/2 tsp
Salt                                                   - to taste

Method:-
·        Wash and clean chicken pieces.
·        Dry chicken pieces completely using a strainer and then using a paper towel. 

·        Mix all the ingredients for marination and marinate the chicken pieces in it for at least 2 hours.


·        Now lets us prepare the items for covering/coating the chicken.

·        Beat egg with milk and keep aside.

·        Mix all purpose flour, pepper powder, bread crumbs, crushed oats and salt together in a bowl.

·        Roll over a piece of chicken in the flour mixture and cover the piece with it.



·        Then, dip it in the egg milk mixture.


·        Again, roll once more in the flour mixture. Keep it aside.



·        Do the same covering and dipping processes for all the chicken pieces.
·        Heat oil in a deep wide skillet/pan.
·        Deep fry the chicken pieces carefully. Don’t crowd pieces as it will break the coating.

·        After about 2 min, turn the flame to low medium.
·        Turn the sides in between and fry until it turns golden brown.
Yummy, mouthwatering fried chicken is ready....have it!!!





You can have it with coleslaw Salad, Garlic Paste and crisy French fries..


Tips:-
·        For a perfect KFC look and feel, take chicken pieces with skin.
·        Adding a mix of ½ tsp rosemary,  ½ tsp Paprika powder in to the flour mixture will improve the flavour and smell. These are available in the super markets.

  1. Hi, Nice effort. Let me share a secret as to how the restaurants like KFC Makes. First the marinated chicken is steamed & cooked. These steamed chicken pieces are covered with flour and crispies ( like oats ) & fried for a very low time till it turns golden brown. That ensures that whilst the outside is not dark n over fried ( which also makes the meat harder and chewy ) & the inside meat n bones remain soft. Cheers !
