Chilly chicken is one of the most popular Chinese dishes available.
Due to its widespread popularity it may be considered as a local dish rather
than a foreign one with n number of textures, flavours and even colours varying from location to location.Mostly preferred with fried rice , Noodles and even with
Indian breads and equally liked by all ages. In spite of being an easy to cook recipe, this dish still
remains mostly a restaurant item .This is my humble attempt to
make this dish a homely item!!! Wishing you all a happy cooking in this festive

Ingredients for Preparation:-

Boneless chicken pieces -
500 gm
For marinating

All purpose flour (Maida) - 1 tsp
·
Corn flour -
1 tbsp
·
Egg -
1
·
Red chilly powder ( Kashmiri chilli powder) -
½ tsp
·
Pepper powder -
1 tsp
·
Tomato Sauce -
1 tbsp
·
Vinegar -
1 tbsp
·
Salt to taste
Method of marination:-
Mix all the ingredients in a bowl .
Marinate chicken pieces and
keep it aside for at least ½ an hour.

Ginger finely chopped - 1 tsp
·
Garlic finely chopped - 1 tbsp
·
Onion, cut into cubes - 3
·
Capsicum/Bell Pepper, cut into cubes - 1 medium
·
Tomato Sauce -
2 tbsp
·
Chilli Sauce -
1 tbsp
·
Soya sauce -
1 tbsp.
Red Orange Colour - a pinch

Green chillies cut into diagonal strips - 2
·
Spring Onion cut diagonally - a
bunch
·
Any sunflower oil - 2 tbsp
·
Oil for frying chicken pieces
Method of Preparation
Heat oil in a non stick pan, fry chicken pieces
and keep them aside.
Heat 2 tbsp oil in a non stick pan and sauté finely
chopped ginger and garlic.
Add onion cut into cubes. Add salt to taste.
Add Capsicum pieces and sauté well for 2 min.
Add tomato sauce, chilli sauce soya sauce and red orange colour..
Mix well and add green chillies strips.
Add fried chicken pieces and mix well.
Garnish with spring onion and serve hot with
fried rice , nan or chappathi.
